The house

Small, quiet, exactly where you want to be

We renovated this house slowly, room by room, choosing materials that are what they appear to be: warm wood, marble, white linen. Nothing showy, nothing fake.

Every apartment has its own bathroom, a kitchenette and a table to sit at or work for an hour or two. We welcome you ourselves, and it is us who answer when you write.

Udine

The city begins at the door

Udine is a city you cross on foot, and that is its great luxury. An eleven-minute walk brings you into Piazza Libertà, beneath the loggia and the clock tower where two bronze Moors strike the hours. Just beyond lie Via Mercatovecchio, the cathedral, and the Tiepolo frescoes tucked inside the Oratorio della Purità. The castle watches over all of it from its hill, and on clear days you can see the Alps from up there.

In the evening the city changes pace. People stop for a tajut in Piazza Matteotti — a glass of Friulano or Ribolla and something small alongside — and stay talking outside while the light lasts. Then they walk home, without a thought for the car. And when you want to go further, Cividale, the vineyards of the Collio and the sea at Grado are all under an hour away.
